Please note: our custom waitlist is typically 6–7 months from deposit to finished hat. This is slow fashion — built by hand, just for you, the old fashioned way!

HOW TO GET YOUR CUSTOM HAT

Each hat is handmade by Cat Leahy with premium quality fur felt.

  1. After perusing this page, please fill out the form above or flick through an email. We’ll be in touch with the next steps and discuss your custom design.

  2. To secure your spot in the production line we request payment of $250 deposit. Current wait times are around 6-7 months, but if you need your hat for a particular date please let Cat know in your consultation. We require a non-refundable deposit when placing your order. This is to secure your materials. Your remaining balance is due once your order is complete, prior to shipping or collecting.

  3. Design and Fit Consultation will be by appointment in the shop in Yackandandah, or via video chat. We will talk about your desired look, shape, colour palette and how we can customise your hat to express your identity.

  4. Once your hat is ready, you’ll be provided with images to ogle over while you pay the balance and shipping cost. We will then box the hat and pop it in the post. Waiting times depend on the state of the world, but a ballpark figure would be 1 week Australia wide, and 2+ weeks internationally.

Standard prices for custom orders (these figures vary depending on your specifications):

  • Custom rabbit fur felt hat, dressed with ribbon and or leather $875

Deluxe add ons (email for quotes)

  • Beaver fur upgrade + $400

  • Simple Embroidery or hat tattoo (think "stick and poke" style burnt onto the hat) + $50

  • Inside hat lining + $40

  • Custom dying (quote depending)

  • Hand-sewn trim around the brim (this hidden stitch technique is only achieved by hand and is “mwah”!) + $120

TURNAROUND TIME

Generally speaking it’s safe to allow 6-7 months before your hat is ready to ship, with rush orders available on request at an extra price. Timing depends on your specifications, head size and current queue length. Some block-out periods may apply throughout the year.
